This Monday, July 28, a cooperation agreement was formalized between the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL) and the Ecuadorian–Chinese Chamber of Commerce, with the aim of strengthening social, technical, and business engagement, generating new opportunities for students, researchers, and productive sectors.

The event was attended by authorities from both institutions, with special recognition given to the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (FCNM) at ESPOL for promoting this strategic alliance. During the ceremony, the potential of the collaboration to drive research projects, technology transfer, executive education, and specialized services was highlighted.

ESPOL's Rector, Cecilia Paredes, stressed the importance of integrating the business sector into academic training:

“In today’s context, it’s imperative that we join forces, because the world is not the same as it was five or ten years ago, given everything that’s happening with globalization, digital transformations, and more.”

Meanwhile, Magaly Caicedo, President of the Ecuadorian–Chinese Chamber of Commerce, expressed her commitment to the active implementation of the agreement:

“We’re going to share this initiative with all our affiliated companies. I’m sure they will be extremely pleased, because they’ll have individuals who are practically professionals already working within their companies.”

The agreement, spearheaded by ESPOL’s FCNM, seeks to foster a multidisciplinary education for students and to build connections that create value for both academia and industry. It also promotes hands-on learning through participation in real-world projects linked to the business environment.

Erwin Delgado, Dean of the FCNM, emphasized the Chamber's ability to coordinate efforts, noting that it brings together more than 250 companies involved in foreign trade, logistics, and transportation. He also pointed out that the benefits of this alliance will extend to the entire ESPOL community.

With this new collaboration, ESPOL reaffirms its commitment to training globally-minded professionals, strengthening strategic partnerships that prepare students for an increasingly dynamic and competitive job market.
