    • Can Artificial Intelligence Teach Critical Thinking in Physics Class?

    Typically, learning about motion and velocity in science classes has been limited to memorizing formulas and performing calculations by rote. However, a recent study published in the prestigious international journal Physical Review Physics Education Research demonstrates that combining artificial intelligence (AI) with the classic method of questioning and reflection (the Socratic method) can completely transform how future teachers learn to reason and understand physics.

This institutional initiative opened the doors of our laboratories to connect internal staff, academic units, and the broader ESPOL community with the cutting-edge infrastructure, technology, and high-impact projects developed within our faculty.

    FCNM Talent Takes the Stage at The Final Pitch

    This year, the 5MinPitch academic initiative brought together 518 students from across ESPOL, who presented their graduation projects within their respective faculties to a panel of business leaders, industry experts, and academics in concise 5-minute pitches.

    When Mathematics Becomes a Challenge to Enjoy

    More than 2,300 students from 12 provinces of Ecuador participated in April this year in the XXXII Mathematical Kangaroo Olympiad, the 20th edition in Ecuador, an experience that turned problem-solving into an opportunity to test ingenuity, creativity, and a passion for mathematics. On Friday, August 7, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (FCNM) at ESPOL held the closing and awards ceremony to recognize the students who achieved the best results.
