FCNM welcomes its new students

A new adventure at ESPOL begins! On Friday, September 26, the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (FCNM) welcomed 95 incoming students, who officially began their studies on Monday, September 29, in the programs of Chemical Engineering, Mathematics, Logistics and Transportation, and Statistics.

The integration event was organized by the FCNM Student Association and the presidents of the student clubs, who greeted the new students with banners, purple T-shirts, and great enthusiasm. During a tour of the campus, the freshmen were guided by their future peers, sharing experiences and building their first connections within the university community.

As part of the event, the students visited ESPOL Cultural, where they attended a talk on the importance of communication and presentation skills in professional development. Later, at the FEPOL headquarters, they participated in interactive activities and games designed to encourage integration among students from the different academic programs.

Associate Dean Dr. María Nela Pastuizaca Fernández delivered welcoming remarks and congratulated the students on their admission to ESPOL. During her speech, she emphasized that each academic program possesses a unique “superpower” that enables its students and professionals to contribute solutions to the challenges facing today’s world.

The students also had the opportunity to meet the coordinators of their academic programs: Dr. Mireya Bracamonte from Mathematics; Dr. Carlos Aníbal Suárez from Logistics and Transportation; M.Sc. María Verónica Ordóñez from Chemical Engineering; and Professors Andrea García and Francisco Moreira, representing the Statistics program.

At FCNM, we are excited to celebrate the beginning of this new chapter and wish our incoming students every success in their academic and personal journeys.
