Faculty members from the FCNM were recognized as scientific spokespersons for ESPOL

On August 27, four faculty members from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (FCNM), along with our Dean, were recognized for their outstanding work as ESPOL scientific spokespersons.

During the ceremony, the university honored 105 faculty members and researchers who actively contributed to the dissemination of scientific knowledge throughout 2024, appearing in 2,070 positive news stories and participating in 613 interviews across television, radio, and print media.

ESPOL President Cecilia Paredes highlighted the importance of scientific spokespersons, who serve as the university’s voice to society and place their expertise at the service of the community.

We congratulate our FCNM scientific spokespersons:

  • Cristhian Galarza, Ph.D.
  • Elimar Marchán, Ph.D.
  • Suanny Mosquera, Ph.D.

We also extend special congratulations to Jennifer Avilés, FCNM faculty member and Director of the ¡ajá! ESPOL Science Park Interactive Center, for her well-deserved recognition.

At FCNM, we reaffirm our commitment to science communication and public engagement, and we encourage more faculty members and researchers to join this initiative, which promotes knowledge exchange and strengthens the contribution of academic expertise to society.
