As part of the third edition of the ESPOL 2026 Open House—an event that brought together more than 5,000 students from 66 high schools across provinces like Guayas, Los Ríos, and Santa Elena—the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (FCNM) played an active role, providing prospective students with an inspiring space to discover their career path.
Throughout this major orientation day, hundreds of young people gathered at FCNM to get an up-close look at the Polytechnic's analytical, exact, and scientific engine. The faculty opened its doors to demonstrate how science and logical reasoning reshape the world through its robust undergraduate programs.
The undergraduate majors in Mathematics, Statistics, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and Chemical Engineering took center stage, showcasing the dedication, innovation, and passion that define FCNM.
Each academic department enthusiastically put together a series of dynamic interactive demos and engaging sessions tailored specifically for visitors. Moving beyond traditional theory, students got a firsthand look at the curriculum and its real-world applications—ranging from global supply chain optimization and big data decision-making to solving complex mathematical problems and driving innovation in the chemical industry.
To further enrich the high schoolers' experience, FCNM was joined by Ajá! Parque de la Ciencia, whose interactive exhibits and hands-on activities added a fun, accessible element of science communication that captivated the students. The synergy between the faculty's programs and the park's interactive experiences proved that learning science can be a thrilling adventure.
