ESPOL’s Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (FCNM) held a welcome session for students from the new graduate cohorts beginning their studies in the Master’s Program in Transportation Engineering and Sustainable Mobility, the Master’s Program in Chemical Engineering, and the Master’s Program in Applied Statistics, as well as for students enrolled in the macrocredentials associated with the latter program. The event took place on June 3 at Auditorium 9E on ESPOL’s Gustavo Galindo Velasco Campus.
The event brought together 53 master’s students and macrocredential participants and aimed to strengthen their commitment to the learning process, promote integration among peers, and foster the development of academic and professional networks. It also provided an opportunity to share important information to support the start of their graduate studies.
Among those in attendance were Erwin Delgado, Dean of FCNM; Carlos Monsalve, ESPOL’s Vice President for Research, Development, and Innovation; María Nela Pastuizaca, Associate Dean of FCNM; and Mariuxi León, Academic Coordinator of FCNM Graduate Programs. The event was also attended by the academic coordinators of the programs: David De Santis, coordinator of the Master’s Program in Transportation Engineering and Sustainable Mobility; Diana Tinoco, coordinator of the Master’s Program in Chemical Engineering; and Purificación Galindo, coordinator of the Master’s Program in Applied Statistics.
In his welcoming remarks, the Dean of FCNM thanked the students for choosing ESPOL to continue their graduate education and highlighted the institution’s commitment to preparing professionals capable of contributing to the country’s development.
During the event, the Academic Coordinator of FCNM Graduate Programs presented the most important aspects of the graduate studies regulations and guided students through the processes and guidelines that will accompany them throughout their academic journey.
FCNM’s graduate programs are designed to strengthen specialized competencies in strategic areas such as sustainable mobility, chemical engineering, and statistical analysis, contributing to the development of professionals equipped to address the challenges faced by industry and society.
The event concluded with a networking breakfast, providing the new graduate students with an opportunity to interact with faculty leaders and academic coordinators. In addition, participants received a welcome kit provided by ESPOL Graduate Programs.
Through this event, FCNM officially launched the academic support process for the new cohorts, fostering spaces for guidance, integration, and collaboration from the very beginning of their graduate studies journey.
